Business of Games: You need to warn gamers that they are leaving the app, Web Shop rules “Designed by Apple in California”
A list of strict guidelines to be followed by devs for their web shops,
- Dont encourage users away from making IAP
- URL restrictions: web view is not allowed, let the gamer open the URL in a new browser tab (outside the game) and explore the web shop — NO tracker, NO redirects are allowed
- Showcase the web shop link only once, must not appear in pop-ups, modal windows, or during the IAP process, onboarding, or sign-in stages
- Dont mention your webshop on App Store page
- Adhere to Apple’s design requirements, link to your webshop should not resemble a button, nor should your site imitate the appearance or function of Apple’s IAP system
- Submit a detailed transaction report by the 15th of each month. If Apple introduces a tracking API, integration is mandatory
- Warn gamers when they try to open Web Shop link, you must present a disclosure notice to users, indicating they are leaving the app and will not be transacting through their Apple account
- $ Commision terms, 27% commission, plus an additional 3% for credit card processing fees, applies to digital purchases. App Store Small Business Program: Developers under this program are subject to a reduced commission rate of 12%, applicable to all transactions including those in the second year of subscriptions.
